Policies

Withdrawal Policy

Casa Feliz requires a 60 day notice to reduce enrollment or withdraw entirely. Requests for increased enrollment may be implemented as soon as space is available.

Adding Days

Families may request to add additional days of care to their child’s tuition. Requests will be looked over by the Director and/or the Assistant Director. Families must request adding days via email and with as much notice as possible in order to accommodate your request. Requests for additional days are not guaranteed.

Guidelines for Sick Children

Parents are responsible for finding substitute care in case of the child’s illness. Children who are contagious must stay at home. School, parents, and the Health Department will receive a notice of communicable diseases that are present at the childcare, when applicable. Communicable diseases present at the school are posted via Brightwheel or emailed. Children are welcome to return to school when they are able to participate in all regularly scheduled activities of their class and present symptom-free.

Doctors’ notes will not be accepted for attendance clearance; child attendance is at the discretion of Casa Feliz. The following illnesses in children are not accepted at Casa Feliz. Please note this is not an all-inclusive list.

Diarrhea (more than one abnormally loose, runny, watery, or bloody stool);

Vomiting: vomiting within the past 24 hours.

Rash: Body rash not associated with diapering, heat, or allergic reactions, especially with fever or itching.

Any eye lesions, eye discharge that is yellow or green in color (includes pink eye/conjunctivitis)

Appearance/Behavior: unusually tired, pale, lack of appetite, difficult to wake, confused, excessive crying, or irritability.

Sore throat: especially if associated with fever or swollen glands in the neck.

Fever: Temperature of 100.1 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. Your child must be symptom–free for 24 hours without the aid of pain or fever reducers prior to re-admittance to childcare.

Lice: children who have lice may not return to school/childcare until they are louse and nit (egg) free.

Hand, Foot, and Mouth: must be fever free, sores must not be weeping/oozing and blisters must be crusted over. Your child must be symptom–free for 24 hours without the aid of pain or fever reducers prior to re-admittance to the center.

To be considered:

If your child should become ill during the day while at Casa Feliz, you will be notified immediately and will need to pick up your child within one hour.

If you cannot pick up your child, choose an authorized alternate pick-up person so that your child does not further expose other children and staff to illness. In suchan event, your child will be given a place to rest away from the other children until you arrive.

School Closures

We plan our calendar of closures in the beginning of each school year (August to July). In certain circumstances (i.e. power outage, icy roads) we will close the school and notify the families ahead of time.
